Strato Volcanoes
Strato volcanoes are the largest percentage of the earth's volcanoes. These types of volcanoes occur 60% of the time. Strato volcanoes are usually about half lava and half half pyroclastic material. Examples of strato volcanoes include Mount St. Helens, Mount Rainier, and Mount Fugi. Although these types of volcanoes are not as explosive as others, they have caused the most dealths compared to other types of volcanoes. This is because Strato volcanoes produce a deadly hazard called 'lahar'. Lahar is an Indoneshian word for mudflow. It is not only dangerous because it is hot, but also because it travels quickly.
