Rhyolite Caldera Complexes
This type of volcano is the most explosive volcano on the earth. They don't often look like volcanoes because they are so explosive they usually end up collapsing on top themselves rather than building a tall structure.Collapse depressions are called large calderas that indicate the size of the magma chambers. Layers of ash from these volcanoes often extend in thousands of square kilometers in all directions. Examples of Rhyolite Caldera Complexes include Yellowstone. |
